RESEARCHERS

The Technology Commercialization Office (TC) is responsible for the identification, protection, marketing and licensing of intellectual property (e.g., patents, unique biological or other materials, and copyrights) developed by WSU faculty. This section will help you, as a WSU researcher, learn more about the technology transfer process, and will provide you with information and guidance on invention disclosures, material transfer agreements (MTAs) as well as WSU forms, policies and procedures.

VENTURE DEVELOPMENT

The Venture Development Office works with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to leverage Wayne State innovations and create early-stage technology companies. The focus of Venture Development is to establish the tools and relationships necessary to launch successful technology businesses. WSU entrepreneurs can receive assistance in locating funding sources, qualified management, and facilities for company operations.

SUCCESS STORY

Dr. Esin Gulari, Professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the Wayne State University College of Engineering, co-founded nanoScience Engineering to develop and manufacture nanomaterials produced by a supercritical fluid process of exfoliating and coating nanoparticles.

TechTown, Wayne State University's new Research and Technology Park located just north of the main WSU campus, recently celebrated the opening of its TechOne facility. TechOne's "anchor" tenant, Asterand Inc., has moved into its new, state-of-the-art laboratory facility on the fourth floor of TechOne. Click here or on the logo above to learn more about TechTown...
